FACE-IT will be involved in conferences worldwide. Here, all conferences, dates, deadlines, etc. will be listed with the newest conferences on top.
ICYMARE 2021 BERLIN
The International Conference for YOUNG Marine Researchers – ICYMARE is a bottom-up initiative completely organized by volunteers and offers a powerful and inspiring international set-up for an excellent network opportunity and some first conference experience.
This year’s edition ICYMARE 2021 BERLIN will take place from 21 to 24 September 2021. FACE-IT supports ICYMARE and invites all polar early career researchers to become part of this network.
Several ICYMARE calls are open until 30 June. Check out www.icymare.com
1) Abstract submission to virtual conference
Abstracts can be submitted as talk or a poster contribution to one of the 20 topical sessions. FACE-IT is involved via the project manager Simon Jungblut who is co-hosting a polar session (no. 15).
“Change in polar regions – same same but different?”
Both polar regions are frequently in the focus of public interest. Likewise, scientific observations and research in those regions are crucial due to their vulnerability to changing environmental conditions. While both polar systems are affected by climate change, the extend and fashion of such impacts may vary significantly between the regions, making comprehensive conclusions difficult. This session aims to feature and integrate research from both poles and calls for contributions in ecology, oceanography, glaciology, climatology, social sciences and all other polar-related fields.
2) Organize a workshop at ICYMARE
Do you have specific skills or some useful software you want to teach your peers? Or maybe some broad topics to discuss?
You can submit ideas for workshops to bring together and support the early career researchers of the ICYMARE community. During the conference there will be possibilities to include workshops of up to three hours in the conference program.
3) Submit your photos to the photo competition
ICYMARE calls for the submission of photos of your marine field research, your extraordinary experimental set-up, your research pet species, or anything you would like to show to the ICYMARE Photo Competition. The best photos will be featured on the homepages of ICYMARE and of the media partner, the ECO Magazine. Furthermore, the best photos will be included in the ICYMARE Photo Exhibition, which will be shown at ICYMARE conferences and, from winter 2021/2022 on, will be available for display on demand. And of course, there will be some nice prizes.
