Workshops

The FACE-IT colleagues Camilla Risvoll and Solveig Øye Bjørdal from the Nordland Research Institute co-organized a set of workshops in the Posanger Municipality, Finnmark, Norway.

On Tuesday, 16 January, a youth workshop at the Lakselv highschool (gymnas) focussed on changes young people have experienced on the use of the area in and around the fjord system and how they perceive the future of Porsangerfjorden. The workshop was organized around participatory mapping methods and conducted in collaboration with the EU project Future Arctic Lives and the Porsanger Municipality.

On Wednesday, 17 January, a meeting with members from a local community on the eastern side of the fjord was arranged in collaboration with the Kven Institute. A diverse group of fishermen, small scale farmers, hunters, harvester, and politicians participated. A participant from the Porsanger Municipality informed about their work around restoration of the fjord system.
